Good detailing is careful vehicle care—not a guarantee that every defect or source of contamination can be removed.
Often improved by detailing
Ordinary dirt, dust, loose debris, road film, fingerprints, light surface contamination, and general presentation can often be improved when the material is in serviceable condition.
May require another service
Deep scratches, missing paint, dents, peeling coatings, torn upholstery, broken trim, water intrusion, mold remediation, mechanical faults, cracked glass, and structural damage may require repair or specialist work.
Stains
Stain removal depends on the substance, time, prior treatments, material, dye stability, and whether the contamination has permanently changed the surface.
Odors
Odor can come from visible soil, but it can also originate under carpet, inside seat foam, in HVAC components, from moisture, or from contamination that is not safely accessible during ordinary detailing.
Paint defects
Washing and finishing are different from body repair. Scratches that pass through the clear coat, chips, etching, corrosion, failing paint, and previous repair defects may remain visible.
Material wear
Cleaning cannot recreate material that has worn away. Faded, cracked, peeling, stretched, abraded, or chemically damaged surfaces can remain visibly worn after cleaning.
